3 x Energy Trading Middle Office Consultants

My client is the global leading in commodity trading risk management consulting, with revenues more than doubling their nearest competitor.  Due to continued growth in clients and projects at existing clients, they are looking to double their European business in the next 3 years, meaning they need 3 x Energy Trading Middle Office Modelling Consultants.

The role will have you working as a business analyst / business consultant within the Middle Office consulting team of the Energy Division.  After initially obtaining an appropriate general knowledge of my client and their offering, the successful candidate will be required to develop a deep level of subject matter expertise around the Middle Office and Risk related areas, which include: complex modelling of commodity forward curves; modelling of all types of physical commodity transactions and derivatives; calculation and reporting of risk measures.

 

The principal general tasks associated with this energy trading middle office consultant role will be to utilise subject matter expertise of commodity trading risk management within the key phases of client projects.

Key skills and knowledge required:
- Complex modelling of commodity forward curves
- Modelling and pricing of physical and financial, vanilla and complex commodity deal structures
- Calculation and reporting of risk measures (such as PL, Greeks, VaR, Credit exposure)
- Real-time exposure reporting
- End-of-day middle office and risk reporting

You’ll thus be highly numerate with a strong degree in a maths/economics/engineering orientated discipline, with further proven commercial experience working in commodity markets, in any role that has provided a sound understanding of forward curve modelling and risk calculations.  Previous exposure to ETRM / CTRM systems or working in a business analyst role are highly beneficial.

 

You will need to have an EU passport allowing you to work and travel to client-site across Europe without restriction to be considered for these roles.
