This position is part of Global Pricing and Revenue Management within Global Merchant Services (GMS). The GMS Global Pricing and Revenue Management team is responsible for the single largest source of AXP?s revenue - our Merchant Discount Revenue - and aims to optimize our competitive premium by balancing profitability, volume on our network, and coverage. Discount Revenue represents roughly $20B per year - over 50% of AXP?s total revenue, and our competitive premium is vital to the company. The Global Pricing group is tasked with optimizing American Express? merchant revenues, a key component to overall Amex revenue by developing and implementing optimal pricing structures. The charter of the group is to manage discount revenue by balancing strategic investments and rates in challenged or under penetrated segments with value recapture initiatives in segments where our merchant value proposition is strong. Responsibilities include: * Compiling Regional Forecasts into a Global Outlook and presenting to Senior Management * Analyzing and Quantifying factors driving variances from forecast in the Discount Rate on a monthly basis, including shifts in CM spending patterns, value recapture initiatives and the impact of key merchant negotiations * Identifying areas for standardization and improvement among US, LACC, EMEA JAPA regional pricing teams. * Manage the SOX certification process for Discount Rate PRSA as well as internal and external audit requests. * Manage the SOX certification process for Discount Rate PRSA American Express is an equal opportunity employer. * Ability to effectively interact, partner and collaborate with all levels in the organization and across business units. * Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills, including high proficiency with Excel * Experience with or ability to quickly learn AXP corporate financial systems (e.g., Oracle, TM1, GMAPS/Mircostrategy, etc.). The optimal candidate will need to feel comfortable managing multiple systems and sources of information and be able to present them in a concise and compelling manner. * Strong thought leadership and comfort working with unstructured problems. * Motivated self-starter with ability to manage multiple, unrelated tasks; strong project management skills * Strong relationship management skills; ability to influence others in cross-functional environments with potentially conflicting goals * Superior written and oral communication skills * Strong team orientation with ability to collaborate with peers and senior management * Strong excel skills are a must * 1-3 Years of experience preferable but not required * Minimum of a Bachelors degree is required *
