Description

Reporting into the Client Account Manager, the Custody Services Rep role is to provide day to day servicing of BNY Mellon's Australian/NZ clients. The incumbent will be main point of contact for client custody accounts and general client queries.

External Responsibilities:

Day-to-day resolution of internal and external client queries in an efficient and timely manner.

*
Identifying and liaising with the appropriate operations support teams internally to resolve client queries.

Escalation of issues that affect the relationship and/or create a financial risk for the Bank to the Client Services Manager/Supervisor

*
Ensure that structural problems on accounts are identified and addressed.

*
Knowledge of the client and understanding of their needs. This includes studying the Service Level Description, the Client Database, the Client Report Card, and other information that can be obtained from Relationship Managers, Business Client Service or other team members.

* Ensure that the client is respecting BNYM's policies and is sending correctly formatted instructions.

Internal Responsibilities:

Daily, quarterly and adhoc justification of overdrafts.

*
Quarter-end monitoring of overdrafts and long balances

*
Daily check and control of any outstanding cash (non-receipts, unapplied credits, large overdrafts, long outstanding overdrafts over 120 days, long balances in restricted or exotic currencies)

*
Daily failed trade follow up and special monitoring on high value fails, long outstanding fails, buy-in markets etc

*
Daily check of unverified trades

*
Weekly follow up with clients on expired trades or trades that will be cancelled as per the 30 day cancellation policy

*
Daily justifications of the Global Fund Control items and follow up with the team supervisor if needed.

Daily check and follow up on outstanding" Inquiry Management System" queries

*
Follow up on internal communications which require a specific action or attention from clients

*
Investigation of claims (if applicable)

*
Sending of Client Report Cards to clients

*
Daily check on short term investment fund positions (if applicable)

*
Develop client non-standard/specific process (if applicable)

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor degree in Business (Finance/Commerce preferred)

2+ years of experience in Custody operations and/or client service (essential)
