APAC Desktop Service Manager – Global Bank recruitment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality services and effective methodologies in technical solutions in coordination with IT support teams to meet business requirements and strategy

• Development in desktop architecture and solutions

• Defining and driving the desktop technology roadmap

• Influencing engineering focus and deliverables and fostering technology innovation for APAC

• Prioritize and deliver global strategic projects and solution across a range of desktop products technologies to achieve the targeted efficiency

• Project management for desktop products and service including deployment, integration, support and administration in standard platform

• Oversee the planning, scheduling and execution of test cycles and procedures for major releases of software rollout

• Review metrics and KPI to understand volumes, drivers and projected growth. Explain variances, address performance lapses and propose adjustments.

• Enhance procedures for operational support and risk management for efficiency improvement

• Communicate effectively with business users regarding strategic provision of all technology support services

• Provide guidance and coaching to team members

• Actively facilitate the ongoing development of employees in accordance with plans created for performance improvement

• Negotiating contracts with vendors together with procurement

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline, preferably with ITIL qualification

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing desktop infrastructure, planning, engineering and service support, in an investment banking environment

• Experience of engineering leadership in computer platform

• Previous experience of IT infrastructure support, ideally with exposures on technologies support and implementation front to back

• Extensive knowledge in desktop architecture and solutions and operating procedure, as well as advanced hardware concepts and networking

• Strong technical skills with a thorough understanding of Active Directory and server technologies, with advanced knowledge of Windows registry and MS Windows operating systems

• Solid and proven technical project management, coordination and negotiation

• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to optimize organizational effectiveness

• Ability to troubleshoot complex organization issues

• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure and frontend technologies (Windows, Linux, Apple)

• Enterprise-wide support processes tools (packaging, provisioning, deployment, remote support and management)
