Description As our Apparel Product Integrity (API) Director, you'll lead Nike Apparel in developing and implementing defect and error prevention systems to maximize consumer satisfaction, minimize quality failure costs and establish Nike as a leader in quality. You'll create and communicate the Nike quality vision and drive consensus, ownership and accountability for quality with various stakeholders, including Suppliers, Development, Sourcing, Materials and Supply Chain. You'll implement the latest Quality concepts throughout Nike. You'll also develop API strategic plans, Quality policies and objectives and the tasks necessary to achieve them. You'll partner, collaborate and ensure integration with Apparel leadership on API strategic direction. You'll drive Human Resource planning and organizational development for Global API. You'll also develop API staff excellence and continue to raise the professional competence of the entire API group. You'll conduct analysis of quality costs and reduce/minimize total quality costs by investing in prevention activities with a goal of zero defects. You'll measure and analyze defective returns and consumer/customer complaints and recommend corrective action. You'll provide analyses of causes of chronic defects for corrective action and improvement of defect prevention systems. You'll lead the quality engineering efforts where defective returns, consumer complaints, production lot reject data and evaluations and defect prevention methods are input into the Product Development team process. You'll review past performance of similar products to identify chronic problems in manufacture and usage to prevent recurrence. You'll ensure that materials and products are properly qualified during commercialization to assure validity of critical specifications and product manufacturability. You'll determine capabilities of critical processes and investigate out-of-control conditions to secure corrective action. You'll facilitate process control usage by our vendors and suppliers; evaluate quality competence of prospective vendors/suppliers and their capability of meeting Nike quality standards; and maintain vendor/supplier Quality manuals to assist vendors/suppliers in following Nike procedures, methods and policies. You'll also lead vendors/suppliers in applying advanced Quality methods in process qualification and control. In addition, you'll manage an efficient and effective Quality Audit system that provides management with an accurate and objective measure of supplier and vendor performance and quality trends and that identifies areas that require corrective action.
