Job Description
In this position you’ll take ownership for concepting, designing and art directing innovative projects for marketing initiatives that include: print and online advertisements, direct mail, collateral, websites, social media, eBlasts, eNewsletters and videos.
The Art Director will be the primary liaison with outside vendors and responsible for pre- and post-production, including quoting and buying, color proofing and press-check supervision (as needed).
- Use your expertise and innovation to drive the creative process.
- Think and implement creatively and strategically.
- In conjunction with the Creative Director, ensure the integrity of our clients’ brands.
- Foster relationships with third party vendors to achieve cost-effective pricing while maintaining high quality services.
Responsibilities
- Understand client objectives and needs, with the ability to translate creative briefs into captivating pieces that motivate the target audience
- Ensure the end product visually reflects appropriate brand and design criteria.
- Work with the Account Group to ensure the art direction and visual presentation delivers the intended message.
- Work collaboratively with and/or take direction from the Creative Director.
- Supervision of all pre-and post-production work, color proofing and press-check attendance, as well as determine specifications, procure competitive pricing and ensure on-time delivery.
- Handle ad versioning and formatting of press clips.
- Juggle multiple projects while keeping a positive attitude and sense of humor.
Desired Skills Experience
- Demonstrated success in producing outstanding creative that’s provided meaningful results.
- Strong design sense and style; ability to think conceptually as well as design aesthetically for all mediums.
- A passion for developing sound strategic ideas, an eye for good design and a love of working as an integral team member.
- Knowledge, experience and comfort in managing high quality print production and sourcing different materials.
- Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects on-time and within budget parameters, in addition to a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player who is comfortable with self-direction.
- At least 5+ years experience in a similar position at a fast-paced agency or on the client side.
- Four year degree in a related field.
- Well-versed in use of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Keynote, Constant Contact, etc.
- Advanced typography and retouching skills.
- A combination of print and web experience is ideal.
- Lifestyle, home and/or luxury product marketing experience is a plus, but not required.
