Assurance and Monitoring Manager
My client, a global banking group, is seeking an Assurance and Monitoring Manager to join their team in Manchester on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be working with colleagues within the team to deliver compliance conduct risk management across the bank.
Responsibilities:
§ Gain a comprehensive understanding of the current risk and control environment, through desktop reviews, interviews and process walkthroughs
§ Use a co-ordinated, consistent and effective approach to risk monitoring and quality assurance testing through the effective use of the appropriate monitoring tools to identify areas of risk.
§ Undertake planned and ad hoc assurance reviews of activities within the division, including periodic reviews of products services, policies procedures, activities of business units Conduct Risk teams, to ensure compliance with Group standards
§ Identify, quantify and assess the impact of review findings in line with the severity of the underlying risks, provide remedial and preventative actions to keep the risk within the Businesses' risk appetite and ensure assurance testing findings are appropriately interpreted and acted upon.
Skills/Requirements
§ Previous monitoring experience gained from either internal or external audit and/or monitoring undertaken in a Compliance function.
§ Ideally an understanding of retail and corporate banking products/services and associated UK regulatory regimes.
§ Good understanding of risk and control frameworks
§ Ability to understand risks, issues and impacts and manage these.
§ Good understanding of conduct risk management disciplines in Financial Services.
