Automotive Used Vehicle Operations Field Consultants

OEM client seeks regionally-located automotive dealership consultants

 

Overview

A well-established automotive OEM client seeks to retain five regional consultants on an annual contract basis to work in focus areas across Canada including the Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax market areas. Consultants will lead on-site dealership assessments and, using structured program support materials and curriculum, assist dealership management in making improvements to used vehicle operations and profitability.

 

Each consultant will work as part of an integrated team to consult with dealers on the effectiveness of their used vehicle operations, including inventory acquisition, reconditioning and certification, as well as marketing and sales processes.

 

Successful consultants are those who can earn the respect of their clients and become trusted business partners over the course of the year. Appropriate training, consulting process and tools will be provided to consultants so that all dealership support actions are focused on specific objectives and key improvement opportunities.

 

The improvement process, and each consultant’s performance, will be measured by their ability to help dealerships increase used vehicle sales volume, used vehicle inventory turn rate and overall operational profit while enhancing customer loyalty to the brand and dealership.

 

 

Experience

Education:           Consultants will have a university/college degree and/or equivalent work experience.

Domain:              Consultants will have a strong working knowledge of dealership operations gained from 3 to 5 years work experience within a dealership.

Technology:                               Consultants will be effective listeners and great communicators who are: able to create clear, concise documentation used to drive objectives; able to define and document implementation plans; strong presenters; able to think on their feet and influence dealership personnel implementation and execution of defined processes and metrics; able to understand and discuss key performance indicators derived from a financial statement and composite. Bi-lingual (French /English) speakers are required for Quebec markets.

Character:          Consultants will be self-starters, highly motivated, teachable and able to work on their own.

 

 

Responsibilities

·         Pre-assessments on targeted dealer prior to visits.

·         In-dealership assessment and analysis of metrics, workflow, technology, process, personnel capabilities, market and market potential.

·         Develop, document and present relevant business cases and solutions to dealership executive management and then demonstrate a ROI and enhanced consumer experience.

·         On board and coach middle management and staff on implementation and sustainment of their strategy for their dealerships.

·         Provide efficient communication and strong solutions for those within the consulting team management.

·         Travel extensively within their assigned region.
