Benefits Analyst (IRC45597) Job in Green Bay, Wisconsin US

Responsible for the accurate administration of health and welfare and retirement plans across all associates.  Develop and maintain vendor partnerships for respective medical and retirement plans and services.  Research industry trends, best practices and competitive benchmarks, recommending design, service, pricing, and process improvements.

 

Proactively research legal requirements and assess alternative options.  Recommend and implement alternative options.  Mitigate and communicate impacts with Highly Compensated Associates. Perform discrimination testing and process corrective actions.

 

Monitor the self-service online enrollment process to include specified life event additions that require associate verification.  Understand the Benefit Administration systems and integration with Payroll systems to include deductions and file feeds to vendors.

 

Provide exceptional customer service, responding to associates needs and facilitate escalation of issues with vendors.  Support and train Benefits Administrators and Benefits Assistants.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

1.    Analyze existing benefit plans/policies and best practices of similar organizations to establish competitive benefit programs.  Evaluate services, coverages and options to determine programs to best meet the needs of the Company and associates.  Stay abreast of industry trends, new programs, legal changes, and technology enhancements, recommending respective plan or system changes based on analysis and evaluation. Complete survey requests.

2.    Administer processes, procedures, and respond to more complex questions for respective benefit plans.  Responsible for coordination of benefits with other government and employer plans.  Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes/procedures that eliminate re-work, defects, etc.  Provide targeted information, cost justification and recommend appropriate solutions.

3.    Perform intermittent and annual discrimination tests with outside resources, understanding and documenting SNI’s legal concerns and risks.  Update Plan Documents, SPD’s (Benefit Books) and other legal documents as necessary for legal changes. Work with counsel and leaders as necessary to mitigate legal risks.

4.    Responsible for accurate and timely enrollment, plan and associate data (interfaces) to vendors and payroll through any new hire, life event and annual enrollment activity.

5.    Accountable for active participation as a subject matter expert (SME) through system requirement definition, testing preparation and activity, ultimately ensuring success of enrollment and change activity.

6.    Responsible for respective benefit plan content and timely communication of updates or changes to include, but not limited to SMM, SAR, Plan documents, SPD, New Hire packets, Investment changes and vendor communications.

7.    Understand all regulations (i.e. ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, PPACA, etc.) related to respective benefit plans and implications to the other health and welfare benefits.  Establish and maintain appropriate auditing and reporting requirements necessary for accurate and efficient benefit plan administration.  Work with internal and external auditors, providing appropriate examples and documentation.

8.    Responsible for regular meetings with vendors (typically monthly) to monitor performance, ensure associate satisfaction and uphold contract guarantees.  Meet face to face with vendor at least annually.  Participate in regular Request for Proposal (RFP) activities.

9.    Proactively identify and deliver associate and leader education and training for health and welfare and retirement plans.

10.   Stay current on all SNI benefits and understand the impacts to respective benefit plans. Proactively prepare content and communicate the resources available to associates and leaders.  Regularly meet with HRBP’s, Recruiting, DBL’s on changes and updates to Benefits.

11.   Periodic travel required to Operating Centers, Vendor sites, training programs and other business travel as needed.

12.   Support the Benefit Administrators and Benefit Assistants with phone calls and administrative tasks during Open Enrollment and as needed.

13.   Support annual enrollment communication, activities and year end closing processes. Participate in Benefit Department projects and tasks as needed.    

 

 

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Risk Management or related field and 2-3 years previous benefits administration or human resources experience; or the equivalent.

2.    Process management and project management experience helpful.

3.    Strong critical thinking and problem analysis and resolution skills.

4.    Use valid, reliable data to make decisions that are balanced and demonstrate sound judgment.

5.    Ability to influence and resolve conflicts.

6.    Ability to work independently, without direct supervision. Self-motivated; self-directed.

7.    Computer proficiency, experience working with benefit enrollment software and file interfaces, or similar technology.

8.    Ability to represent and relay SNI benefits plans and strategies positively to leaders, industry peers and vendors.

9.    Strong communication skills (oral and written).

10.  Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.

11.  Stress tolerant, ability to maintain performance stability under pressure or unusual situations, including annual enrollment.  Able to relay calmness to others.

12.  Ability to handle very sensitive and confidential information, and maintain confidentiality of this information.
