Position Description:
Under direction from the Selling Manager, the Brand Ambassador is responsible for providing outstanding customer service, building individual and vendor line sales volumes, establishing and maintaining customer relationships, working effectively with other team members and establishing new Saks Fifth Avenue accounts, while demonstrating consistent adherence to company standards and procedures. Additionally, the Brand Ambassador will drive the business of a specific vendor line by focusing on client development, communication of vendor initiatives, and leading and developing the line's business. Utilizing Saks Fifth Avenue's clienteling system, the Brand Ambassador is responsible for driving their business and creating their own success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Model all Saks Fifth Avenue Service Principles (Greet, Relate, Exceed, Attend and Thank)
- Focus on achieving and exceeding individual and vendor line sales goals, event sales goals, and department sales goals
- Maintain a consistent high level of customer service by developing excellent customer relationships
- Increase vendor line sales by developing new and existing clients through clienteling
- Proactively generate and share ideas with Selling Manager on ways to develop the vendor line as well as your own business opportunities and maximize sales to achieve or exceed goals
- Utilize Saks Fifth Avenue's online clienteling resource tool to record and maintain client information and preferences to drive your business and communicate with clients
- Develop strong communication and working relationships with Corporate Buying Office regarding specific needs, opportunities, sizing and customer requests to target future growth
- Act as a liaison between the sales department and vendor representatives
- Coordinate department efforts to maximize special events and trunk shows
- Conduct product training for staff and associates in adjacent areas on an ongoing basis
- Work with the Sales Support Team to familiarize them with any vendor specific merchandising needs
- Focus all efforts on providing an exceptional customer experience
- Approach all visitors and customers warmly, whether in your selling area or outside your selling area
- Maintain readiness standards by ensuring a clean, tidy and welcoming selling environment
- Participate in annual inventory and inventory preparation
- Other store initiatives as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of retail experience, in a like product line, preferably in a customer focused environment
- Previously demonstrated successful sales experience, exceeding quota
- Ability to read and understand sales reports
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team oriented environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
- Ability to strategize the business and be self-motivated; taking initiative to increase individual and line productivity, while also motivating other team members to help sell the vendor line
- Ability to learn and utilize online clienteling tools and software proprietary to Saks Fifth Avenue
- Focused on attention to detail, taking initiative, and working in a positive working environment
- Ability to work well with others, as well as the ability to work independently to drive a successful business
- Demonstrate sound business judgment and organizational ability
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- High school graduate or equivalent required; college degree preferred
