For this company where pro-active working and thinking is part of their nature we are searching for Video on Demand engineer who have a passion for IT.

As VOD engineer you will be working on the support, development and testing and deployment of integrated Video On Demand systems. The platform consists of video servers, management systems, modulators and meta data systems.
 

Job description

Your job will entail the following tasks and responsibilities:

As a Video On Demand Systems Engineer you will be working on the development, integration and deployment of DTV Video On Demand systems. This involves cooperation with other Technology design authorities, business lines and affiliate distribution companies. There will also be extensive cooperation with external technology suppliers.

You will need to understand all aspects of the Video On Demand platforms, and future industry directions and developments.

Knowledge skills:

• BSc degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Sciences.
• Knowledge of MPEG, RTSP, NVOD.
• Knowledge of Internet, TCP/IP Systems and Protocols, Unix and Microsoft based servers.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Able to work under pressure and to be prepared to work outside normal working hours when necessary.
• Proactive, with a desire to continuously improve system solutions, documentation and process procedures.
• Experience with DVB-C, DVB-S architectures and technologies, Cable headends, provisioning systems, business systems interfaces.
• Fluent in English.

Requirements

Experience:

• Experience with digital Video On Demand (VOD) systems.
• Experience with the installation and deployment of head-end equipment.
• Strong knowledge and experience of the technologies and protocols used in DVB-C systems and DOCSIS.
• Understanding of RF, QAM and QPSK.
• Experience with DVB-C, DVB-S architectures and technologies, Cable headends, provisioning systems, business systems interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of products from Tandberg, Scientific Atlanta, Broadbus, C-Cor, Seachange, Nagra, Philips, Nortel and Cisco.
