Business and Finance Accountant
HEO Business Financial and Management Accountant - This role has a bias toward Fixed Asset Accounting, Asset Verification, Maintenance and Reconciliation.
Job Purpose:
Reports to: SEO Senior Reporting Accountant
Responsible for: Supporting the Financial Accounts Preparation and Management Accounts Reporting Requirements
Key Relationships: HEO Financial and Management Accountant, Senior Reporting Accountant, Business Support Accountants, Chief Accountant, Head of Finance, Business Planning, Auditors (Internal External), Regional and Laboratory Finance Teams and Finance Director.
The post holder provides:
• Assist with Balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist in the production of financial and management accounts reports and disclosures for period 9 and period 12 closures
• Review of VAT calculations and follow on reporting
• Contribute to the risks and opportunities log
• Assist with the quarterly reconciliations
• Assist with cash flow forecasting
• Fixed assets controls and verification
• National statistics work and submissions
• Audit support liaison
• Support SEO Senior Reporting Accountant to prepare accounting instructions for P9 and P12, and the management of those processes
• Assist with Whole of Government accounting
• Contribute to the finance, fraud and corporate risk registers
• Assist the finance team in the Agency governance procedures (including conflicts of interests and stewardship report)
• Assist the wider finance team in the transition to shared services
• Assist in the provision of training on SSD systems and processes to former colleagues
