Cable Installer
The Fenix Group currently has full-time employment opportunities available for experienced cable and broadband installation technicians in the Dayton and surrounding areas. Candidates must pass a nationwide background check and drug screen. Company vehicle, fuel, uniforms, and tools are provided.
Installation technicians perform field installations, upgrades and downgrades, and maintenance per the specifications of our contracting company. Technicians are responsible for meeting/exceeding customer expectations and completing a quality installation every time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? Perform installations, troubleshoot, and repair customer-related cable service issues per the specifications of the contracting company.
? May perform disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, pre-wires and multiple dwelling installations as needed.
? Install drops, outlets, converters, cable modems, digital terminals and other cable system devices.
? Reconcile issued converters, modems, routers, PDAs, and other equipment/inventory on a daily and/or weekly basis.
? Clean, maintain and stock vehicle and equipment in order to be prepared to perform required duties.
? Complete associated paperwork with each work order in a timely manner.
? Properly operate and maintain installation tools and equipment, and safety tools and equipment.
? Report need for vehicle repair or service when required and/or prescribed.
? Perform on-call responsibilities as assigned.
? Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
? Behave in a cooperative and constructive manner; perform your job safely; follow all company policies, state, local, federal and other applicable laws and guidelines; comply with any and all job-specific requirements.
Job Requirements:
To work in this capacity, you must have:
? High school diploma or equivalent.
? Previous electrical, cable, and field installation is helpful.
? Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to our insurer.
? Through classroom and field training, demonstrate the ability to successfully complete all job functions.
? Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime, weekends, and different shifts when needed.
? Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
? Ability to speak effectively with customers and co-workers.
? Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
? Ability to exhibit the positive behavioral attributes as required by the Company.
? Ability to climb and maneuver an 80 pound, 28 foot extension ladder.
? Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
? Ability to work with hand and power tools.
? General computer knowledge preferred.
