CAE  ENGINEER

 

Background:

The above full time vacancy has arisen within Research and Development based in Calsonic Kansei Technology Centre. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and skilled personnel, with suitable demonstrated background experience. Reporting to a General Manager, the successful candidate will be self motivated and possess excellent communication and organisation skills and be a key member in supporting and improving the department’s activities.

 

Primary Responsibilities of the Role Include:

·         3-Dimensional model preparation and simplification of engineering components to facilitate subsequent mathematical analysis

·         Structural analysis of components and assemblies utilising FEA tools

·         Performance evaluation of products utilising CFD tools

·         Development and improvement of in-house CAE processes and verification methods

·         Preparation and presentation of analysis reports and results

·         Expert analysis support and liaison with the engineering project team (including design, test, manufacturing and customer) 

 

Other Requirements and Skills:

·         Experience in use of CAE for engineering design

·         Experience of FEA modelling techniques (linear or non-linear)

·         Experience in CFD modelling

·         Fundamental knowledge of mathematical methods, thermodynamics, mechanics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and the strength of materials

·         Ideally possess an Engineering degree or higher, that included exposure to analytical analysis methods such as FEA or CFD

·         Be flexible with working hours in response to business needs

·         There may be a requirement to travel as part of the role to other Calsonic Kansei and supplier sites as required

·         Possess good communication skills to ensure that daily issues are clearly highlighted

·         A strong team player with the ability to lead and to work on own initiative in accordance with the CKWAY values

 

Skills Preferred:

·         Analytical, problem-solving capabilities

·         Experience of Fatigue and Durability assessment

·         Knowledge of Ansys WB or Fluent software

·         Background materials engineering knowledge, covering both metals and polymers/elastomerics

·         Basic understanding in heat exchanger design and heat transfer enhancement

·         Basic CAD familiarisation and use, especially Catia and Ideas-NX

·         Ability to clearly write and present technical data

·         Experience in data correlation and experimental verification/validation

 

Annual Salary:

Salary range between £29,177 - £31,543 per annum depending on experience.
