CIB – Treasury Services – Core Cash Management Risk Manager – ED
The Treasury Services business supports Corporate, Financial Institution and the Public Sector clients offering a full line of both payment and collection solutions to maximum the cash management effectiveness and efficiency. Each of these services has inherent risks that require controls to ensure they are within the business's risk appetite and balanced to the rewards.
This Risk Manager position is critical to identifying, assessing and proactively managing the inherent credit, market, fiduciary, reputational, regulatory and operational risks of those services.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Effective partnering with business and functional colleagues to guide consistent and rigorous JPMorgan risk ma nagement framework and practices, including developing and maintaining risk policies, new business initiative approval process, risk event analysis and risk management reporting
§ Thought leadership and risk advisory to enable the business to develop an appropriate balance between risk and reward
§ Demonstrate objectivity in evaluating risk versus reward ; challenge existing arrangements to ensure appropriate reimbursement for risks taken
§ Independent identification, assessment, mitigation and decisioning of risk issues, including credit, operational, market and fiduciary risks
§ Development of standard product policies and guidance on deal structuring, in particular on exceptions to standards
- Escalation point and leadership in prioritization for risk issues including the identification of control gaps and their satisfactory remediation ensuring that each is appropriately assessed for severity and managed to completion
- Sponsorship for aspects of key projects related to risk issues and for targeted deep dives on risk issues
§ Leadership and partnership with other regional Core Cash Management Risk Managers and functional partners (Legal, Compliance, Controllers, Audit, IRM) to ensure consistent and efficient risk management framework and approach
- Independent assessment of the completeness and quality of Control Self Assessments (CSAs) and global New Business Initiatives (NBIs)
- Proactively develop and provide risk management training on Core Cash products
- Lead and manage a team of circa 5 Risk Managers, providing guidance, coaching and feedback on performance.
- Participate in deal and product forums, providing risk informed decisions and rationale.
Qualifications:
§ Strong knowledge and experience in Cash Management Products and Services and the risks inherent in them
§ Initiative and experience in driving strategic adgenda and proactively identifying issues
§ Ability to form strategic views and make risk decisions based on risk assessment
§ Excellent decision making skills and judgment
§ Proven success in people management and development
§ Excellent influencing and communication skills, both written and verbal
§ Ability to successfully lead/execute collaborative efforts with partners from diverse backgrounds, skill sets and priorities
§ Ability to deal with multiple tasks and requests in a fast paced and evolving environment, and to prioritize conflicting and multiple requests
