Chevron's Gulf of Mexico Business Unit is accepting online applications for the position of a Drilling Completions Deepwater Advisor located in Covington, Louisiana.

Overview:

This position will be provide expertise to Chevrons's Deepwater (DW) Drilling, Completions, and Subsea Equipment.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the Deepwater (DW) Drilling, Completions, and Subsea Equipment Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Member of a team of multiple (1-4) DW Advisors that have a broad scope of assigned work.
  • Liaison between GOM Deepwater Asset Teams and DWEP for subsea drilling and intervention planning and execution in GOM operated DW assets.
  • Liaison between GOM DC, GOM DW Asset Teams and DWEP Major Capital Projects (MCP) teams working on multiple DW MCPs for engineering and operational issues.
  • Work with GOM DW Asset Teams on DW NOJV MCPs to provide guidance and influences partners.
  • Work on GOM DW Special Projects.
  • Work with Energy Technology Company (ETC) on technical studies or activities related to hybrid and subsea wells.
  • Work with GOM Facility Engineering Subsea Team on seafloor architecture and system reliability / integrity management as requested to maximize efficiency of operations relating to subsea trees and control systems.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of OG experience, 5 years of directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated expert functional knowledge of Drilling Completion well design, well planning execution, and rig operations. Demonstrated Deepwater drilling experience or knowledge, including deepwater well planning and execution, deepwater completion design, and deepwater equipment such as subsea trees, and subsea well intervention equipment and processes is strongly desired.
  • Communication and influencing skills sets.
  • Ability to influence and communicate with partners, DC and BU Leadership Teams as well as FMT members effectively and professionally.
  • Technical problem solving skills in a cross functional and partner rich environment including technical drilling functional knowledge, communication skills and the ability to effectively influence others.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and working knowledge of CPDEP for drilling completion activities.
  • Fluent in CSOC and CPDEP processes to effectively participate on CVX MCP and NOJV Project Teams. CSOC Certified.
