Director of Consultant Relations
This new role will focus on developing and enhancing the firm's relationships with investment consultants.
Consultant Relations plays a critical role in developing an understanding of The Firm's investment capabilities within the investment consultant community. This role reinforces and supports senior management's execution of strategic initiatives by aggregating consultant channel market trends and identifying prospect leads. The Director of Consultant Relations will serve as a point of contact for investment consulting firms, provide consultant feedback to senior management and assist in growing the business.
Primary responsibilities of this role include:
Enhance The Firm's visibility and develop an understanding of the firm's capabilities within the consultant community
Act as a point of contact for consultant inquiries and feedback from the consultant community
Manage information requests from consultants by working closely with internal resources including Senior Management, Portfolio Management and Business Development
Establish an agenda that appropriately positions the firm, the capabilities, and products with each individual consulting firm
Develop knowledge of the firm, capabilities, and product strategies by meeting with investment and research staff on a regular basis
Utilize senior management and investment personnel as a resource in consultant meetings
Create and extend a consultant network to ensure an open channel of communication between key consulting firms and The Firm
Orchestrate product rollouts, consultant marketing strategy initiatives and special projects related to the consultants
Organize and host periodic consultant/client relationship reviews with key consultants and appropriate constituent groups
Obtain regular feedback from consultants regarding the firm, our capabilities, and strategies and industry trends and share broadly across the firm
Participate in consultant and industry conferences
Skills experience required:
At least five years of direct experience in a consultant relations role
Proven knowledge of investment consultant landscape and the structure of consulting and manager research teams at top tier consulting firms
Demonstrated success in developing new consultant relationships
Knowledge of and the ability to articulate investment strategies including index, quantitative and alternative investment strategies
Proven ability to identify and respond efficiently and effectively to market trends and target audience feedback
Excellent written, verbal, presentation and analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a diverse audience; exemplary interpersonal and client-facing skills
Bachelor's degree. Advanced degree or professional designation (CFA, CAIA, etc.) a plus
Strong understanding of the current regulatory environment such as SEC requirements, etc as well as understanding of securities law and regulatory requirements
US and international travel required
