Full Job Description

Overall management of the claims process, people and activity to provide a premium claims service which :
- Ensures that all our clients` claims are managed from notification to settlement in a professional and efficient manner, achieving an optimum result.
- Maintains local compliance, regulatory and quality practice standards
- Maintains organisation and resources that are adequate to support business performance.
- Monitors and regularly reviews the notification, investigation and settlement of claims to ensure an optimum client result for all claims and long-term client loyalty.
- Monitors claims settlements to ensure prompt collection and transfer of funds.
- Ensures that all appropriate layers and connected reinsurance are informed to reduce the risk of rejection because of late notification, subject to correct information being provided by placing brokers.
- Provides advice-statistics to Placing-Account colleagues on the possible impact of assured claims on renewals.
- Estimates the potential impact of claims handling costs on account profitability of new and prospective clients.
- Agrees and meets targets for additional claims revenue.
- Ensures legal, market, regulatory and Best Practice Manual requirements are met in all claims handling.
- Maintains technical, document and practice standards to minimise rework and prevent E O exposures.

The successful candidate will have experience with all the components needed to manage a Claims Service. You will be in a position to review claims procedures, improve analysis and ensure that there are sufficient resources to investigate, negotiate and settle complex client claims. You will be able to help form a strategy for E claims in conjunction with the Technical Director. You will have strong market relationships, negotiate and settle high value claims and use these relationships to further business develop. Naturally you will be a leader and have good people management andensure that the roles, responsibilities and reporting lines within the business area are clearly communicated, and understood.
