Electrical Assesmbly Apprentice

TFPP is currently hiring an Electrical Assesmbly Apprentice. This position is located in our Vidor Texas office.  The Electrical Apprentice shall be responsible for assisting the Electrical / Electronic Specialist in the application of electrical theory and/or related knowledge in testing, modifying, and assembling operational or developmental electrical control circuitry and equipment.  He/she shall perform various skilled tasks in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic control systems and electrical systems.
 
As the Electrical Apprentice you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
 
Install, maintain, and repair related electromechanical, electrical, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Perform preventative repair and maintenance of field, plant, and shop electronic and electrical systems, devices, equipment and components.
Evaluate of equipment design for operational and/ or fabrication quality and safety.
 

As the Electrical Apprentice, one shall be required to do the following:
 
Repair and/or replace defective components in applicable systems including, transformers, switches, conductors, and other electrical fixtures.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, layouts and schematics.
Evaluate current equipment design and application for future development of improved equipment

Qualifications of the Electrical Apprentice will consist of, but not be limited to the following:
 
High school diploma, some technical training, 5 years on the job training with panel assemblies in a manufacturing environment
Solid knowledge and understanding of electrical schematics, control panel wiring, and ability to expand knowledge base into electronics and advanced electrical installations.
Must be able to operate in both office and shop environment. 

Must be able to do some physical exertion such as walking, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, etc.
Must be able to perform duties for the entire work day and work week.
Must be able to interact and communicate effectively and efficiently with others involved in the design process, including but not limited to customers, sales, engineering, vendors, manufacturing, etc.
Has strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the engineering, drafting, and project coordination / management field.
