Electro-Optics Test Engineer Job in Elkridge 21075, Maryland Us

Description: The Photonics/Electro-Optics Test Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining work stations for testing semiconductor lasers in a manufacturing environment. The test engineer will work with design and process engineers to define the test algorithms.

Responsibilities: The test engineer will be developing both the hardware and the software to implement the test station. Familiarity with the process for releasing a test set into production is expected, this includes documentation as well as defining statistical process control (SPC) elements. The test station will support computer-controlled data acquisition and interface with a SQL database. The ability to design and implement customized test fixtures is desirable. The test engineer will be responsible for training and certifying use of the test station by production personnel as well as establishing on-going maintenance procedures. In addition, this person will collaborate with semiconductor chip designers, process engineers and manufacturing engineers to design for manufacturability and innovate further advances in device performance and continuous improvement in yield.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors, Master of Science or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Science.
- 3+ Years Experience Developing Test Systems
- Strong Background in Developing Automated Test Equipment
- Direct Experience with Semiconductor Laser Testing Preferred
- Mechanical Aptitude for Developing Custom Test Fixtures
- Highly Proficient in Test Automation Software Development
- LabView Experience Preferred, but not Required
- Good Communication Skills
- Familiar with Product Release Documentation Processes
- Know How to Release New Manufacturing Test Stations
