1. As part of a complex team, operates and maintains telemetry processing equipment.

2. Trouble-shoots and repairs to Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) level, telemetry processing and related equipment.

3. Performs Preventive Maintenance Procedures on telemetry processing and related equipment.

4. Assists in creation of Operating Instructions related to telemetry processing and related equipment.

5. Assists with installation of computer and telemetry processing related equipment, and refurbishing of telemetry processing facilities, i.e., Mission Control Rooms (MCR) and facilities supporting MCRs.

6. Ability to repair electronic equipment to component level (through-board component mounting) is highly desirable.

7. An oustanding candidate will possess knowledge of and/or certification in LAN or VLAN architectures. 

This job is performed at the Ridley Mission Control Center (RMCC), in a real time mission support environment.  The successful candidate could potentially work long hours (overtime), odd hours (very early mornings, or late evenings) in a high pressure, dynamic environment.  Demonstrated, successful adaptation to such (similarly demanding) environments is a plus.

While not a main requirement, the ability to effectively communicate via the written word is a real plus in this job.  There is a great deal of technical documentation associated with this work, and a candidate who can help us create and maintain such documentation is a plus. The successful candidate must be a team player.  Someone who is eager to learn, and just as eager to share his/her knowledge in order to strengthen the team is the type of individual we’re seeking.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE - Graduate from an accredited two-year technical school with courses in Math, Basic Electronics, and Microwave Theory or equivalent military training with emphasis of R.F. disciplines.  Background in general electronics and 7 years’ hands-on radar experience.  Good understanding of radar theory and test equipment used to maintain and repair radar equipment and related devices.  Ability to troubleshoot to the component level.  Good understanding of tubes, transistors, logic gates and high power R.F. sources
