Summary
The role of the Engineering Intern is a short term position (3 months) allowing the candidate to assist with engineering test development projects of varying scope and magnitude, while enhancing their own professional development.

The Engineering Intern will be primarily tasked with expanding test automation efforts for validation of legacy and new product development products for the HID Physical Access Control (PACs) product offerings. This individual will be involved with creating, executing, and/or modifying test routines based on existing automation frameworks. This individual will also assist in the development of new automated test frameworks.

This position is for a strong self-directed contributor that will contribute to HID’s successful validation of products from concept through production. Experience with designing and developing automated testing methods especially in the area of embedded applications/systems is a definite plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development and extension of automated test frameworks.
• Develop programming modules or sub-modules for validating segments of product functionality.
• Assist with defining and implementing functional validation tests and collection of parametric measurements to generate test data, test logs and associated test reports/summaries to assure product design adequacy and/or standards conformance.
• Assist with promoting the deployment of test frameworks or test architecture to meet the organization's testing needs.
• Attend and participate in the activities revolving around test development.

Required Knowledge / Experience:
• 2+ years experience programming in any combination of class projects, outside work experience, etc.
• Software development experience on any of Windows, Linux, or embedded firmware systems.
• Must have proven experience with two or more of the following programming languages, tools, or development IDEs
• Ant, Bash, C, C++, C#, Hudson, Perl, Java, .net, NUnit, JUnit, XML, Visual Studio, etc.
• Working experience with source code control systems such as Git, Mercurial, RCS, or CVS desired.
• Working experience with validation of browser-based testing software (e.g., Selenium, TestingAnywhere) is a definite plus.
• Ability to work with lab equipment such as DVMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, etc. would be helpful.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Proficient with Development tools for Windows and/or Linux platforms (e.g., editors, compilers, make files, etc)
• Familiar with Networks and Network management

Work Requirements:
• Must be flexible to work on various assignments.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Candidate must be available to work on site at HID Global location in Denver, CO
• No relocation package is offered for this position
