Emergency Management Planner Job in Prince William 22192, Virginia US

Prince William County, VA is looking for a detailed oriented person to fill a Grants Management/Planner position in our Emergency Management organization within the Department of Fire and Rescue. Prince William County is one of the largest counties in Virginia and is located 35 miles southwest of Washington, DC.

This position performs difficult professional and administrative work involving a wide range of technical and administrative activities.  Work involves developing and maintaining Public Safety Operation Plan, County Emergency Operation Plan, Mitigation Plan, COOP/COG Plan, Bio-Terrorism Plan and other plans involving the County’s response to natural and man-caused disasters; and managing federal and state grants; and working in the Emergency Operations Center during exercises and disasters. 

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Urban or Regional Planning or related field, supplemented by emergency management training from a state or the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and 5-7 years experience in an emergency management organization and grant management.  Must possess a valid driver's license, pass a DMV record check and must be able to perform duties outside of normal business hours.  EOE
