Job Summary: As a key member of the WEIDMANN ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY, INC. team, you will have responsibility to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations and coordinates environmental activities.

This role will manage facility’s ISO 14001 system and maintain consistency throughout the organization.


Job Duties include but not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain all environmental policies/procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies

  • Responsible for the ISO 14001 certification program including continued development, expansion and internal/external auditing of the program.

  • Coordinate regular audits of environmental practices and procedures across all shifts and provide corrective action recommendations to appropriate managers.

  • Trial and test process flows

  • Sample various points of waste water stream to identify and reduce losses

  • Sample and test steam generator feed water; adjust chemistry as needed.

  • Sample and test incoming well water as well as treated fresh water to ensure quality, adjust process as necessary

  • Sample and test water before and after DAF, evaluate and report performance, adjust as necessary to optimize.

  • Sample and test water before and after sludge press to evaluate performance, adjust chemistry and process to optimize efficiency

  • Sample and test discharge stream for BOD, TSS and other constituents as required; fill out necessary reports.

  • Coordinate and conduct outside testing of effluent and sludge samples as required by law and use

  • Develop and complete reporting for environmental agencies.

  • Conduct air testing as required, including performance testing on incoming and outgoing air systems.

  • Manage solid waste disposal as required by company and regulators.

  • Coordinate inspections with various regulators when required

  • Support other lab activities as needed to provide support to the technical team.

  • Coordinate and conduct employee/contractor safety meetings.

    • Qualifications:  An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field. Five plus years manufacturing experience required (paper experience preferred). Requires knowledge of ISO 14001 certification program. Skilled in standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the health, safety, and environmental fields. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in team based activities. Effectively utilize computer-based applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and SAP).
