Job Purpose/Background:
Working within the European equity team, as a product specialist you will be responsible for communication of BlackRock’s European Equity Team’s products to both the external client base and internal distribution network including retail and institutional channels,.
This role is best suited to someone who has previous experience of working in a similar environment, demonstrates strong knowledge of European equity markets and has a broader market understanding of both European equity funds and the competitor backdrop. The candidate should demonstrate persuasive presentation skills and the ability to conduct client meetings/presentations in German or other European languages is desirable.
You will be the “go to person”, confidently representing the portfolio managers to clients, prospects and consultants, allowing portfolio managers to focus on the day to day running of their portfolios. The candidate will have previous experience of building relationships and will be responsible for maintaining a database of internal and external contacts with the aim of promoting the team’s products and delivering on business growth targets.

In addition to time spent representing the portfolio managers, your role will include updating team presentations and materials and responding to ad-hoc enquiries. The role is diverse and varied and so a degree of flexibility is required when working within this busy product specialist team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver highest quality investment communication to a wide range of clients prospects
- Enable "minimal distraction" for portfolio managers
- Deliver/present highest quality product information to clients, prospects and internal Marketing Sales Teams with a view to increasing the team’s assets under management
- Maintain and develop a universe of contacts internally and externally
- Assist in educating the sales force where appropriate on European Equity team’s strategies
- Assist in developing the European Equity team’s marketing strategy
- Assist in the preparation of product presentations
- Customisation and editing/checking of product RFP/RFIs
- Work with the European product specialist group to ensure best practice across the team, implementing new ideas and adopting beneficial strategies
Skills/Qualifications:
- IMC and other professional or higher degree desirable
- German or other European languages
- Confident person capable of engaging with internal and external client base
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to confidently present to small and large audiences
- Technical and quantitative - must be able to understand and articulate investment management strategies concepts clearly and with confidence
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills desirable
- Attention to detail but also be flexible in a varied role
