Euro zone Economist

ECONOMIST

The successful candidate will work within the fixed income market economics team, with a focus on the macro-economics of the Eurozone, specific knowledge of Iberian economies would be a bonus. He/she will apply his/her strong quantitative skills to model, forecast and analyse macroeconomic developments within the eurozone. He/she is expected to take a major role in marketing the bank's Eurozone research, both internally and with external clients.

 

Mainly responsible for economic forecasting and analysis responsibilities on the Eurozone, with a particular emphasis on inflation

•         Publicity:

 -         Raising the profile of the firm by publicizing the firm's views to the media

 •         Presentations:

 -         Effectively marketing the bank’s view on the eurozone in both internal and external meetings

•         Writing and Editing:

 -         Contribute to the team’s regular publications

•         All other duties as assigned

 

-              Strong macro-economic analysis skills, applied in the context of the Eurozone

-              Strong quantitative analysis skills are essential for this role

-              Experience with E-Views and other econometric packages

-              Strong team working skills are essential

-              Applicants must be fluent in English (excellent written and verbal skills)

-              Other Eurozone languages are strongly preferred

-              The candidate should ideally have extensive experience in working with clients, with sales and with traders

-              Flexibility to work longer hours when required is essential due to publishing deadlines and the nature of the role

-              Investment banking experience preferred but candidates could come from Supranationals or Central Banks
