European Equity Portfolio Manager – New Funds
Our Client is a globally successful, and recognised asset managers who are looking to expand and launch a new sector specific fund. They currently have 8 billion dollars of assets under management and has steadily employed an equity long only approach to investing.
Over the last year they have raised a further 400 million from new investments across North American University funds and Sovereign Wealth funds which have sparked new interest in the equity fund and its portfolio managers.
As a result of this they have taken the strategically decision to create a new equity long-short fund which is sector specific. Sectors they have explored is Consumer, Industrial, Transport and Healthcare but they have not been confined to these and have also spoken with sector specialists within TMT and Financials.
The role will report directly to the CIO and the successful candidate will be responsible for the new expansion plan and the launch of their Fourth Equities funds. The funds are extremely successful, and a high degree of freedom is attached to this role. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record coupled with a minimum of ten years within Portfolio Management
In order to apply for the position you must have:-
- Proven long term record in a specific Sector of Equity portfolio management across Europe (Consumer preferable)
- Experience within a well established fund management firm or asset management arm of Top Tier -1 bank
- Strong quantitative and modelling skills (portfolio construction, risk management, derivatives)
- Bottom up stocking picking- fundamental equity experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of ten years within portfolio management
- A minimum of five years within a sector specialism
- Entrepreneurial mindset and systematic investment approach
- High interpersonal skills, pragmatic and outgoing
- Team player skills
Within this position you will qualify for an uncapped bonus scheme, with not only a performance driven bonus but also a fixed guarantee year on year. You will also immediately be entered into a partnership scheme and eligible for the options scheme immediately.
