(FDG) Geoint Test Engineer 3 Job in Mclean, Virginia Us

Northrop Grumman Information Systems is seeking a Test Engineer to support all test efforts associated with developmental and integrated systems associated with the United Kingdom's MOD Future Deployable GeoInt (FDG) operational system (IOC/FOC). This system will provide a data centric, workflow driven, geospatial intelligent data management, and data discovery and dissemination capability for the UK MOD community.

Specific efforts will include the development of test plans, testing of software baselines and DR fixes delivered from the development team, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) prior to deployment to customer sites. Documentation responsibilities will include generation of formal test plans, procedures and reports for FAT as well as development and maintenance of less formal regression test procedures. The test engineer will perform regression testing for COTS upgrades, recompiled software, and DR fixes. Test will support CM during system delivery and checkout from FAT facility to the Government test facility. The test engineer will support systems engineering in the development of the System Engineering Plan and System Transition Plan, and Requirements Test Matrix. The test engineer will also be required to prepare requested material at milestone reviews including PDR, CDR, and TRR.

This position will be located in McLean, VA. However, occasional international travel (up to 10%) may be required.

This position is contingent upon contract award, budget and/or customer approval.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, electrical engineering with at least 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree in the stated disciplines with at least 3 years of related experience. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Must have formal customer acceptance test experience (FAT, SAT, IVV or equivalent).

  • Experience developing written documentation including System Test Plans, System Test Procedures, and System Test Reports.

  • Experience in verification (test or analysis) of performance requirements.

  • Experience using a formal DR tracking system such as Agile.

  • Test experience must include COTS Software based systems.

  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and organizational skills.

  • Must be flexible to supporting multiple baselines (e.g. development, test, operational) in response to changing program priorities.

  • Must possess an ability to work with all levels of personnel (managers, developers, testers) across multiple organizational components.

  • Occasional International travel (up to 10%) may be required.

  • Must be willing and able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance should it be required at a later date for the program.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

  • Experience with the production, storage, and dissemination of geographic information feature data and products and associated work roles (e.g. Data Steward, Geospatial Analyst).

  • Experience with ESRI products including ArcGIS.

  • Experience supporting Enterprise pre-deployment testing (e.g. Stability and Operational Test and Operational Confidence Test).

  • Experience with system integration, test and transition on virtualized (VMware), and Blade (Dell) environments.
