Financial Control Roles – Private Equity Business Mexico City recruitment

My client is a prestigious global Investment Bank, and continues to go from strength to strength. This role sits within the banks funds management business which focuses primarily on infrastructure, private equity and real estate assets. This business has experienced significant growth since its inception and now manages approximately 50 funds. The business in Mexico is investing in a range of assets mainly infrastructure across Mexico. It is a growing business and is constantly exploring new opportunities in various asset classes and or geographic regions.

As a result of growth an opportunity has become available for an experienced  controller to come on board and be a key participant in the team in Mexico. This department has total responsibility for all financial reporting for the business and its investments. This includes transaction processing, management reporting, statutory and taxation reporting, budgeting and forecasting, involvement in acquisitions, foreign exchange hedging and preparation of board reports and other ad hoc reporting. This role will see you fall as part of a global team with other similar teams operating in all developed and emerging markets globally. This role will see the successful candidate interacting with a variety of internal and external parties in both English and Spanish. More specifically day to day you will be involved in;
-Ensuring Integrity and accuracy of financial records and in some instances establishing accounting processes and policies.
-Maintaining all accounting records for the corporate entities , i.e. balance sheets, income statements and the detailed analyses that goes with
-Preparing consolidated financial statements for Mexican reporting purposes and US purposes.
-Preparation of the annual financial reports, including the management of the external audit
-The co-ordination of investor and regulatory reporting
-Reporting on the movement of fund between different investment vehicles
-Ad hoc reporting for the business and respective funds.

My client is looking for an experienced candidate with between 5-10 years of experience who has worked in financial services in a similar capacity, ideally private equity coupled with a big 4 firm accounting training. Exposure to Mexican GAAP and statutory reporting and tax compliance is important in this role as is excellent communication skills both English and Spanish and a good attention to detail.
