Freight Forwarder Job in Derbyshire Ng12dr, Midlands Uk
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join this rapidly growing and expanding National Freight Company.
This role for the next two months will be based in Swadlincote but relocating to the Pride Park area in January 2012.
Reporting into the European Sales Manager the main duties of the role include:
* Pricing and Negotiation
* Responsible for your own database of suppliers
* Generating new suppliers for the business and building strong relationships
* Knowledge of the customs and excise process
* Strong import and export experience
* Pricing and quoting of jobs.
* Time critical experience and knowledge
* Responsibility for organising and dealing with the drivers and transportation of goods.
In return the client offers a competitive salary and potential bonus earnings of up to £10k annually paid quarterly based on call levels, revenue, and database increase.
The ideal candidate:
* Must have an excellent geographical knowledge of the UK and Europe
* Have a thorough understanding of the Freight forwarding industry
* A thorough understanding of import and export on road, sea and air.
* a second language in either French, German or Spanish would be a great advantage
* Be a self motivator as at times the European Sales manager will be travelling around the UK
Operating in the hours of 9-5pm Monday to Friday but can involve longer hours according to business needs. Due to large expansion plans there is lot of opportunity for progression.
Closing date for this position will be 16th November as interviews are to be held w/c 21st November. With a view to the ideal candidates starting before Christmas.
