Role: Front-End Engineer
As a Front-end Software Engineer you will be challenged with exciting engineering problems while staying on top of the latest front-end trends and technologies, web standards and semantic markup
Responsibilities:
• Maintaining consistency and maintainability of CSS code while preserving and translating the vision of our design team in all A grade browsers
• Evolving and building our style guide using sass and scss
• Combating any browser quirks new and old
• Building complex functionality both on content pages and in editorial tools
• Being conscientious about performance implications of your code
• Staying on top of the latest front-end trends and technologies, web standards and semantic markup
Requirements:
• Passion for JavaScript and UI programming using client-side libraries like jQuery and YUI
• Knowledge of advanced client-side techniques including optimization, object-oriented architecture
• Experience working with json and restful web services
• Enthusiasm for your work and ability to work in a team
• Experience developing server-side projects with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks
• Ability to work collaboratively with design, product management, and engineering teams
• Knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design, and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience working with Git or other VCS
• Links to sites you have developed or open source projects you have authored are a huge plus
