Game Designer Job in San Francisco 94102, California Us
Our company is currently searching for a fulltime Game Designer for our San Francisco Bay area office, to create PC web based social networking games. The successful candidate will be driving the overall project design and translate the creation vision of the producer into feature sets. He or she will interface with project stake holders, engineers, and technical directors on the implementation and viability of the design. This position reports directly to producers within 3rd Party operations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design concept of the social networking game developed by our company
- Define game concepts, while collaborating with the development team to maintain develop Game Design Documents (GDD, which will include game flow documentation
- Drive unique innovative solutions in the design, while emphasizing design elegance, while taking the targets constraints into consideration
- Recognize design risks early in development offer successful solutions
- Develop game play test plans for external internal test groups
- Use data mining to inspect improve design
- Guarantee that each of the games' quality goals are met through continuous reviewing of development, and when needed, obtain input from external production teams)
- Pitch conceive game designs for the latest social networking products, both new extensions IP for existing brands
- Be a participant in the development of gaming concepts with the US 3rd Party Content team
- Develop an understanding of business requirements market trends that help in the molding of design
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience working with published titles that have Game Designer credit
- Two or more years of experience in social networking related games
- Launch and post launch development experience
- Knowledgeable of the basic game design rules (difficulty curve, learning curve, rhythm curve)
- College or University degree preferred
- Solid analytical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to both external internal parties
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint), coupled with the ability to use SW editors applications such as 3DSMax
- Passion for video games
- Knowledgeable of a variety of video game media
