Summary Maximize revenue growth in local market area by capitalizing on existing network infrastructure,interconnected LEC central offices, and local market knowledge of viable customer segments and competitive situation. Manage sales, installs, customer commit dates, trouble tickets, MTTR, disputes and accounts receivable via direct reports and dotted line relationships. Responsible for costs including gross margin, opex, netex and capex. Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Prefer experience as a successful General Manager in a telecom sales environment with enterprise and mid-market telecom sales management experience and owning the customer experience in the San Francisco market. Understand and evaluate network infrastructure; challenges and opportunities. Have the skill set and knowledge to act as an effective advocate for network improvements/changes with offer management, network planning, field operations, network operating center and technical service center in order to stabilize network weak points, serve and retain customers and develop new revenue opportunities. Understand network design and outside plant operations, SONET technology, switch functionality, understand field operations roles and responsibilities. Understand and be able to read financial statements. Essential Duties *Design and build a field sales force that maximizes revenue growth (appropriate mix between lower-quota, less-experienced sales personnel and higher-quota, more-experienced personnel). Coordinate with inside and partner field channels. Direct profit and loss responsibility with incentives to support not only local business market initiatives but also wholesale market nationals and content market initiatives. *Design go-to-market product, pricing and promotion solutions in concert with offer management, product, marketing and network planning. *Direct accountability and authority within appropriate organizational structure for sales, sales operations, sales engineering, sales support, network planning, and field operations. Evangelize strategy and coordinate/prioritize efforts of both direct reports and matrix staff including order entry, service delivery project managers, service consultants, sales engineers, regional network planners, billing dispute specialists, accounts receivable, technical support center and field operations. *Evaluate capital spending projects and present for approval. Has some direct capital spending authority for success-based projects. Capital planning, budgeting and spending within certain authority limits. Coordinate market financial statements and capital spending tracking with finance department. *Serve as the escalation point of the company to customers and local business community.
