Global Head of Rates Risk IT – Co Head of Rates EMEA recruitment

 The successful candidate will lead a dynamic Front Office rates risk IT application development team and will be facing off to senior traders in EMEA. The development team work very closely with their clients and projects are mainly focused on development of new analytics and risk management for interest rates products – options, swaps and structured rates. 

Key areas of responsibility

Collaborate with the trading desk heads to define the technology roadmap for the swaps, options and structured rates desks in EMEA.  Build and maintain the architectural blueprints for rates risk management systems (current state, target state and transition plans). 

Partner with Rates IT management team to define the technical roadmap for the global rates business and drive

Define and lead the implementation of global rates risk project implementations

Partner with strategic risk management development teams to ensure shared technology platforms for analytics, market data and trade management incorporate the specific business requirements for the rates business

Define, implement and deploy rates risk management systems and ensure stable and reliable operation of the platform.  Drive central application support teams to meet business demands

Identify and implement cost saving initiatives that reduce the total cost of ownership of rates risk systems to the rates business.

Recruit, train and manage an exceptional team of software engineers and analysts in London.  Partner with regional managers in Tokyo, Singapore and NY to ensure risk projects are staffed appropriately.  As co-Head of Rates EMEA, partner with co-Head to ensure Rates IT team is fully integrated into the wider EMEA IT department.

Define and improve the software development lifecycle, with a specific emphasis in understanding and implementing Agile methodologies where appropriate. 

   WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

Minimum of 7 years practical software development experience.

Proven track record leading a team in the full development lifecycle for small to large-scale systems.

Project management skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Experience of banking systems and cash/derivatives knowledge, especially with experience of
