Global Oil Supply Trader recruitment

 A Pioneering and vibrant oil company operating across the Middle East and Africa specializing in refined Petroleum  products is looking to hire a Senior Physical Oil Trader  The role will be to creatively  source optimal and lowest cost products worldwide so as to help the company achieve its vision of becoming one of the top regional and niche offshore and onshore trading players in East and Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.

The suitable candidate will have 10 years + of experience in international oil trading company or Bank, and a proven track record as Physical Oil Trader for a reputable medium./large oil trading company.  Multilingual is preferred.  

The primary responsibilities and knowledge areas include:-

1) Identify and optimize global arbitrage opportunities to source products at the most competitive prices, using large ships offshore, including for break bulk and hub for East Africa, Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Islands.

2)  Products included but not limited to : Gasoil, Mogas, Jet, Naphtha and Fuel Oil.

3) Possess a strong understanding of operations control, planning and legal aspects of the oil industry.

4) Bring on board strategic business opportunities and value adding relationships, including large refiners, traders and state oil companies.

5) Preference for candidates currently operating in Africa.  If not a proven past and successful track record in Africa.

6) Must be well versed with paper trading to marry into physical procurement of products for optimal pricing.

7) Possess extensive experience in responding to large tenders that require combined skills of a) global arbitrage product sourcing, b) Creative opportunity scouting, c) leveraging the company’s strengths to maximise profitability.

8) Possess in depth knowledge of Oil shipping and chartering market to optimize the sourcing and supply of locked-in markets, hubs and tender opportunities.
