Description
Implements strategy and direction. Interprets and executes policies and procedures. Recommends modifications to operating policies. Ensures adherence to risk management policies and develops a sense of awareness in day-to-day responsibilities. Accomplishes results through lower-level managers and supervisors or through experienced exempt employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. Functions as an advisor to unit regarding tasks, projects and operations. Applies principles, theories and concepts to a wide range of work in one or multiple functional areas. May contribute to the development of new concepts. Understands the organization's strengths and weaknesses as compared to competitors. Responsible for decisions that may have long term impact on company assets and/or resources; individual judgment required to make decisions within parameters Frequent contact with internal personnel at all levels. Contacts may be of a highly sensitive, and confidential nature. Manages assigned client relationships and may participate in prospective client presentations. Participants in the recruitment, retention and performance of managers and senior staff. Manages the allocation of resources within and across functional groups. Manages performance recognition process. Supports and implements BNY Mellon's Human Resources policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Typically heads a single-function or multi-function group within one or more facilities. Typically reports to a Director II, Senior Director, or Managing Director and is either the fourth or fifth level down from the CEO. Typically has 8+ years of related business experience with 6+ years of management experience. Requires in-depth knowledge of functional products and the investment industry. The ideal candidate will have a law degree.
