We are currently working with a substantial commodities trading and shipping company, based in Singapore, who are seeking a self-motivated senior grains trading manager to join and lead their operations in Singapore. The candidate would be responsible for shaping the business strategy, providing growth to meet target objectives and managing a team to deliver profits by trading a range of agri-commodities mainly across grains and oilseeds into South East Asia. The candidate should have a good knowledge of this market and should have some key selling / trading experience.
Responsibilities:
• Trading Manager - Senior Agricultural Commodity Trader
• (Wheat, Barley, Soybeans, Corn, Oilseeds By-Products)
• Range of good industry contacts / manufactures
• Manage Customer / supplier relationships
• Container Bulk freight spend management encompassing freight negotiation with carriers freight forwarders (including worldwide cross trade)
• Manage a book to develop a positive P+L together with existing team and develop presence across the SE Asian markets.
• Driving Sales into SE Asia
• Have destination management experience
• Be prepared for travelling to drive business forward.
• Strong Physical Commodity Knowledge
• Consolidation of Futures/Options (Hedging) of daily trade position for all Grain Traders for Volatility Risk Management.
• Marketing, Merchandising, Sales and Purchases from origin (worldwide basis)
• Good understanding of US Australian Grains Market.
Skills Attributes
• Highly numerate, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long term sustainable relationships.
• Be willing to be based in Singapore
• Must Speak English
• 8-12 + years of Experience
