Head of Finance
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well established and high end French luxury brand (retailer and distributor) as Head of Finance in a role encompassing large amounts of commercial and strategic work. I believe this role will suit an hands on Qualified Accountant with a passion for the retail sector / luxury brands and the gravitas to develop the role and finance function for the benefit of the wider business.
The business:
This SME retail business operates within the high end fashion / accessories space and has stores across the globe as well as distributing to a range of department stores. They are enjoying steady growth rates year on year and are a profitable business. To support their ambitious future growth plans, they are looking to recruit a competent and intelligent Head of Finance to support their successful MD and senior management team based both in London and France.
The role:
The Head of Finance will take full responsibility for the finance function for the UK business. This role is challenging and diverse with duties split across reporting, commercial work and ad hoc projects. Duties will include:
Managing directly and developing a team of two
Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all financial and management reporting
Partnering with the MD and operational staff throughout the business to provide financial support to key decision making
Cash flow management, planning, budgeting forecasting
Client relationship management
Ad hoc projects – analysis and data manipulation to support wider business / growth plans including new markets / contracts analysis
The candidate profile:
This is a high profile, varied and hands on Head of Finance role which will require a technically astute candidate with excellent attention to detail, keen commercial acumen and developed leadership skills. The successful candidate will have held a similar financial management role within an SME commercial business and be specifically looking for a hands on controller position.
Candidates will have the following skills and experiences:
Qualified Accountant with PQE gained within the retail sector
Experience working within a SME / divisional role within a commercial business
Happy to consider candidates looking for their first ‘number one’ role.
French language skills a bonus but by no means essential
Ability to demonstrate hands on control and process improvement
Ambitious and adaptable
High level communication and presentation skills
