Full Job Description

Main Responsibilities:
- To assist in the review of the Finance function and prepare (or amend) the strategy to achieve a cost efficient and scalable environment (people, systems and processes). Liaison with business generators to ensure that their requirements are included in the support strategy.
- To manage day-to-day processes of Finance, providing strong leadership and direction to achieve the COO`s objectives.
- The maintenance of the books and records of the firm and all the managed funds.
- To maintain the Support Area`s adherence to processes, controls and regulatory requirements by monitoring the quality of inputs and outputs; to update procedure and operations manuals and recommend ways to help the department work smarter, minimising errors and omissions.
- To be the first point of contact for exception items and participate in the resolution of problems-issues escalating potential risk items, when appropriate, in a timely manner.
- To continually review in the light of changes to the risk environment the reconciliations performed from a settlement, pricing and accounting view point and recommend improvements to facilitate effective control and improved decision-making in a dynamic but controlled manner.

Experience Required
- A qualified Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 5 yrs accounting experience with commensurate experience in Finance, Fund Accounting and Operations.
- Significant experience and background in the Financial Services Sector having a good understanding of audit, compliance and risk implications arising from the infrastructure.
- Presenting Report and Accounts to the Audit Committee and to the Trustees of the Funds.
- Experience in providing activity indicators at Board Level with a view of the performance of the underlying business activities.
- Working with a variety of board members and-or senior employees on behalf of a team.
- Prioritising, coordinating and delivering the implementation of systems and procedural changes.
- Knowledge of the risks, standards and regulations within a business of this type and the use of controls to mitigate such risks.
- Delivery of strong closeout processes.

Skills Required
- Numerate, analytical with a solid understanding of process dependencies.
- Technically competent with a solid understanding of current SORP, IFRS, UKGAAP, IMA and FSA reporting requirements
- Attention to detail and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Good influencing skills.
- Able to translate business requirements into system requirements.
- Multi tasking.
- High quality man management skil
