Head of Market Risk Policy
Role
The Head of Market Risk Policy has responsibility for the structure and implementation of the Market Risk policy framework. The role will allow the candidate to contribute to regulatory audits and projects that exceed the scope of Market Risk Management. There is also ample opportunity to develop key messages for responding to regulatory hot topics regarding market risk management.
The role encompasses the following responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the bank's policies and related documentation meets the regulatory standards for key international regulators.
- Monitoring changes to the regulatory standards impacting the bank's compliance, and identify new or amended policy requirements.
- Assurance that the framework of market risk policies, key operating procedures, methodologies and desk procedures are complete, current and widely understood by all impacted groups and functions.
- Facilitating the capture of subject matter expertise from the relevant individuals and groups.
- Creating policy procedure documentation and ensure implementation.
- Devising effective communication and training strategies to provide the widest possible level of understanding and compliance continuity across the Market Risk function.
- Managing the overall policy agenda and submitting documentation for review and approval by the Market Risk Policy Committee.
Candidates will have
- Sound knowledge of market risk management, financial products, process infrastructure.
- Good understanding of the regulatory and legal framework impacting market risk management and developments in enterprise risk management.
- Well developed communication, documentation, presentation and facilitation skills (especially workshops and meetings).
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management both informally and formally to drive the policy agenda forward.
- Ability to deliver high quality results on time.
