Fitch Ratings has an opening for an entry level analyst position in its nonprofit health care group. We are seeking an individual with strong organizational and analytical skills to assist in the credit analysis of nonprofit healthcare and senior living providers, with emphasis on the assessment of the financial, operational, strategic and regulatory factors that determine creditworthiness.

Under the supervision of senior analytical staff, the successful candidate will be instrumental in assisting senior analysts in the credit review process with responsibilities ranging from analyzing financial reports and filings, attending borrower meetings, and preparing material to be presented at credit committees. In addition, candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior analysts in the development of credit research, topical reports, and special projects related to the sector.

 

The ideal candidate will exhibit an intellectual curiosity in the health care sector and its financing, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a basic understanding of accounting concepts , be proficient in excel and word software , and the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously.  A Bachelors degree in accounting or finance is strongly preferred.  Relevant experience in healthcare credit analysis or healthcare finance is a plus. This position can be filled in Fitch's New York City, Chicago or San Francisco office. Overnight travel is required.
