Investment Consultant
Critical to the success of our Investment business is the Manager Research team which assists in driving our clients’ decision making around the selection, monitoring and de-selection of investment managers.
As a key member of the manager research team, you will enjoy the opportunity to deepen and apply your knowledge of what it truly takes to be a successful investor. Your ability to analyse data, undertake qualitative analysis, employ effective interviewing techniques, draw conclusions and present results will be enhanced through strong mentoring from experienced professionals. Your primary focus will initially be the Australian fixed income landscape. However, this could expand to include other asset classes and strategies in the course of time.
Duties and accountabilities will include:
- Conducting rigorous due diligence on investment managers, incorporating quantitative and qualitative information, through a combination of desk research and face-to-face meetings
- Leading internal and external research meetings, driving discussions and formulating views on specific managers and strategies
- Using well-developed writing skills to articulate your findings and recommendations in research notes
- Applying and further developing world class investment tools and processes that are integral to the due diligence process
- Formulating recommendations to be presented face-to-face or in writing to our clients
- Contributing to the design, implementation and monitoring of multi-manager client portfolios
- Ensuring quality, timeliness and effectiveness of all work delivered to colleagues and clients
- Building and maintaining deep relationships across the investment community
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in an investment role, and preferably in a manager research related discipline with client facing responsibilities
- Fixed income experience
- Good knowledge of institutional investments with exposure to a number of asset classes
- Completion of professional qualifications - such as CFA - ideal, but not essential

- Commercially astute self-starter with the confidence and maturity to formulate and articulate recommendations clearly and concisely and in the context of client advice
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Proven skills in showing initiative to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally
