DESCRIPTION:
This position will be predominately focused on working with network engineers to create qualify novel network architectures based on business requirements. The candidate is expected to lead architecture design validations as well as test new network equipment. The candidate will be exposed to multiple IP network platforms, primarily Cisco core switches routers. The preferred candidate will be proficient in service provider network implementations such as Session Border Controllers,BGP, Voice Prioritization, MPLS, Carrier grade redundancy design; Layer 2 Layer 3 Networking ARIN Management Assignment. You will work with a small team of network engineers, in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Explicit experience in service provider network design is mandatory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engineer, construct evolve Company's Data network infrastructure to meet existing prospective business needs. Progression needs include, but are not limited to: IP backbone development IP Peering.
- Function as a topic expert for all IP-routing related issues, providing Tier 4 support to Network Operations. Advise junior mid-level network engineers.
- Lead software hardware evaluations, impacting the ongoing maintenance evolution of our IP infrastructure. Manage timelines resources with related projects.
- Generate test plans founded on network design necessities. Publish test reports for peer review.
- Construct network procedures configuration guides for use by Network Engineering Operations, ensuring consistency across the network.
- Work intimately with cross-organizational teams on the implementation deployment of novel network services technologies.
- Preserve the technical relationship with equipment vendor(s), ensuring the Company's interests are represented in prospective software hardware.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Direct experience in service provider network design is required.
- Hypothetical practical application of protocols Layer 2 VPNs (MPLS) is mandatory.
- Expertise in BGP, TCP/IP OSPF necessary.
- Strong background in switches, Cisco IOS routers required.
- Precise lab testing capabilities, including generating test plans based on technical requirements.
- Experience using packet generators analyzers desirable: Wireshark, Ethereal, etc.
- Experience in inter-networking.
- Excellent written verbal communication skills.
- Proven project management skills required.
- Must work well in team environment.
- VoIP experience is helpful.
