JOB TITLE: Japanese Trade Mitigation Specialist

Job Summary:
Part of a global organization and working in a shift rotation (follow the sun support model), Trade Mitigation specialists support Newedge clients and internal desks trading activities on various platforms/exchanges including Japanese exchanges such as Tokyo Stock Exchange, Osaka Securities Exchange etc. Facing the traders and exchanges, they provide regular feedback to the business (real-time customer alerts / incident notifications) and release customer advisories for upcoming production changes.
Responsibilities:
Trade Mitigation:
- Resolve client trading issues and answer enquiries in relation to futures and securities markets, i.e. order status, order cancellation and reconciliation of positions
- Track and document all trading related production issues in Newedge ticket system (Jira)
- Escalatecustomer complaints and claims to the regional Head of ITFOS
Incident management:
- Support all Newedge trading applications (order routing, market data, dropcopy …)
- Pro-active monitoring of the production systems (connectivity, order rejections)
- Escalate to other IT groups or vendors when required and follow up until full resolution
- Take ownershipon outstanding production tickets and various customers’ enquiries
- Broadcast client outage notifications (email alerts) and provide regular updates
- Write detailed customer Incident reports, reviewed by Management
- Perform daily handover with other regions (report outstanding issues, changes)
- Follow IT FOS policies and Incident management / escalation procedures
ISV certification:
- Coordinate clients UAT on shared or dedicated trading platforms.
- Validate new trading applications front ends (functional tests)
- Assist traders in the installation / configuration of their trading front end
- Participate in market rehearsals for exchange migrations or system upgrades
- Notify customers of upcoming production changes
Requirements:
Education/Certification: University graduate or equivalent preferred
Knowledge:
- Exposure to one or more of the following trading platforms: Fidessa, Trading Technologies, GL Trade, Sungard, Patsystems, ORC, CQG, RTS, Fastfill …
- Good understanding of order life cycle, order types market data and trade flow
- Basic understanding of the FIX protocol (4.2 or above)
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience in Financial markets (securities and / orderivatives markets)
- Previous experience as broker / trader (dealer) or application support role of Front office trading systems
Skills/Abilities:
- Attentive to details, accurate and well organized.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Able to work under stressful situation - be positive
- Analytical thinking mindset and ability to deal with multi-cultural and multi-layer of clients.
- Co-operative and willing to assist others
Language Ability: Native level Japanese (Read/Write/Speak), fluent in English
Knowledge:
- Good understanding of Japanese Exchange and regulations
- Job Experience with the financial institutions in Japan
- General understanding of IT concepts (networks, tcp/ip, Operating Systems)
- ITIL v3 foundations (IT service management)
- SQL queries (extract data from order / trade database)
Language Ability: Cantonese, Putonghua or Korean is a plus
Required Registrations in Singapore:
- Trading in Futures Contracts (Monetary Authority of Singapore)
- Dealing in Securities (Monetary Authority of Singapore)
