 OUR CLIENT:  Is a privately held, leading global manufacturer of high-performance elastomers, advanced-engineered thermoplastics, high-performance thermoplastic composites and integrated material solutions.

 

Four Market Segments: Aerospace, Semiconductor, Oilfield Petrochemical

 

 IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

·         B.S  in Engineering discipline required (Advanced Degree preferred)

·         Professional Engineering License a plus

·         10+ years related engineering experience in design and/or process engineering of composite components with a strong understanding and experience with SolidWorks, AutoCad, and CATIA, with at least 5 years in  Aerospace.

·         MUST have experience in the Aerospace Industry within the past five years.

·         MUST be familiar with current FAA Regulations Commercial Aerospace Standards

·         Must have 3+ years of new product development experience

·         Strong leadership abilities leading by example to raise the technical bar

·         Proven track record of managing and developing a team

·         Willing to Travel up to 50% domestically/internationally

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

·         Lead design engineering functions and personnel within the global engineering group, including New Product Development, Business Methods, and transition support to manufacturing of the respective product lines. 

·         Develop technical resources to world class levels.

·         Responsible for intellectual property of products, materials, patent applications and maintenance, protection of proprietary processes and trade secrets. As a member of the technical community within the company, this person enables technology transfer among Market Groups and Regions in support of long term growth and profitability targets.

·         Establish and manage business technical staff on a global basis giving guidance and direction to ensure alignment with strategic plans and corporate growth and profitability targets. 

 

 

·         Develops engineers to world class performance levels.  Communicate and reinforce purpose, tactics and methodologies of strategies and initiatives to ensure full understanding and effective implementation.

·         In alignment with Corporate and Market strategies and initiatives, establish functional objectives and facilitate creation of individual performance objectives.  Conduct quarterly individual performance reviews (or delegate as appropriate).  Develop team members in accordance with individual performance objectives and in line with overall functional objective

·         Define and support Staged Development and Portfolio Management activities, including facilitating idea submission, acting as a gatekeeper, collaborating with cross-functional teams and designating appropriate resources as dictated by the current project portfolio requiring design engineering participation

·         Collaborate with commercial organization to provide appropriate resources to support approved strategic account plans and the internal resources to support ongoing product development opportunities for each strategic account.

·         Adhere to corporate policies in regard to products, materials patent applications and maintenance, protection of proprietary processes and trade secrets.

·         Approve all developments or revisions to materials, processes and design specifications for the business prior to their release and provides ongoing technical support in these vital functions. 

·         Define and oversee implementation of all product testing systems required to support development of new product lines and advancement of existing product lines.

·         Maintain all systems for production of engineering documentation required in both the projects and order fulfillment groups and ensures these systems comply with the ISO 9000 or equivalent as appropriate (e.g. ES9100) structured quality systems

 

Required Skills and Education:

·         B.S  in Engineering discipline required, Advanced Degree preferred

·         Professional Engineering License a plus

·         10+ years related engineering experience in design and/or process engineering of composite components

·         5+ years experience within the Aerospace Industry 3+ years of new product development experience

·         Strong understanding and experience with SolidWorks, AutoCad, and CATIA.

·         Proven track record of managing and developing a team

·         Travel up to 50% domestically/internationally
