PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
We are seeking a caring candidate to perform a variety of duties involved in maintaining the cleanliness of the kennel and providing care for impounded animals within the Animal Shelter Division.
EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Maintain cleanliness of kennel and provide routine maintenance in compliance with established guidelines.
• Impound animals; separate animals according to established guidelines for health or other reasons.
• Observe impounded animals; report illness and injuries; administer inoculations and medication to animals; feed, water, groom, and attend to needs of animals.
• Report shortages of supplies, inventory, and medication.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and painting.
• Assist in the adoption and reclaiming of animals.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience - Some experience in the care and handling of animals is desirable.
• Education - Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• License or Certificate – Possession of, or ability to obtain, both a valid Colorado driver's license, and a certification to euthanize animals.
