This position is for a regional Business Object Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert, who will have responsibilities in three key areas:
- Providing 2nd – 3rd level application support for a global shared service based upon Business Objects Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Desktop Intelligence on the Business Objects XI 3.1 platform. Support a customer base of 85 plus reporting projects for over 10,000 end-users.
- Maintain, support, deploy and monitor a federated global standard Infoview intranet infrastructure regionally deployed on over 22 servers on the following platforms:
o Windows 2003 Server R2 with IIS
o Application Servers: Weblogic 9.X and IIS
- Infrastructure projects, such as upgrade, patches, server build-outs and hardware replacement.
Key Deliverables
- Providing 2nd – 3rd level application support for a global shared service based upon Business Objects Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Desktop Intelligence on the Business Objects XI 3.1 platform. Support a customer base of 85 plus reporting projects for over 10,000 end-users.
- Support customer reporting applications built with the standard Web Intelligence portal as well as customer portals built with the WebI SDK (ASP and JSP).
- Maintain, support, deploy and monitor a federated global standard Infoview intranet infrastructure regionally deployed on over 12 servers on the following platforms:
o Windows 2003 Server R2 with IIS
o Application Servers: Weblogic 9.X and IIS
- Lead infrastructure projects, such as upgrade, patches, server build-outs and hardware replacement.
- Provide centralized repository administration, security administration, and change management for the reporting project teams.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to:
o define specifications for value added tools
o define requirements for engineering of new releases
o provide infrastructure consultancy for new SDK web applications.
- Provide 24 x 5 on site support and on-call support during weekends.
- Coordinate internal Business Objects support operations to:
o distribute and assign internal support calls
o execute change management tickets on-time and correctly
o follow-up on escalated issues
o support the internal 24x7 help desk
o improve support efficiency
- Maintain procedures and perform tests for Business Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery.
- Document infrastructure deployments, support policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree (Computer Science preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years IT Experience
- 2 years Client Support
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure/client support of a Business Objects environment
- Business Objects XI Platform
- Business Objects XI Reporting Product DevelopmentSupport (Crystal, WebIntelligence, Desktop Intelligence)
- Windows 2003 Server/IIS administration
- WebLogic (or another J2EE application server)
- Web Infrastructure (ASZ, DMZ, Firewalls, WebServer and Application Servers)
- Experience with RDBMS : Oracle, Sybase and MS-SQL Enterprise Server
- Enterprise Performance Management (Desirable)
- .NET and/or J2EE development (Desirable)
