For our customer in Rotterdam we are looking for an

Logistics Representative (M/V)

 

 

The Function

The Logistics Representative is responsible for arranging regular and ‘ad hoc’ transport of goods in various modalities, including truck, barge, rail, and/or sea-going vessels. He/She provides daily operational support to the Purchasing Team in order to achieve superior service levels to our clients. The Logistics Representative should have solid working knowledge of the responsibilities of all stakeholders in the export transaction including that of the buyer, supplier, inland/ocean carrier, stevedore, customs agent, and governmental agencies such as the customs authorities. In short, the Logistics Representative ensures optimal result with in our logistical framework for a high-volume export-based operation, focusing on cost minimization, operational efficiency, and compliance with applicable legalities.

 

·         Planning and booking of outbound cargo shipped for the assigned area

·         Maintaining day to day communications with steamship lines

·         Resolving service problems between freight related stakeholders

·         Developing and maintaining good cooperation with vendors

·         Evaluating vendor performances in cooperation with Logistics Manager

 

We request

·         Less than 1 year working experience in a transport (related) function

·         MBO/HBO level education in logistics (for example STC)

·         Fluency in Dutch and English (verbal and written); Spanish, Italian and French a plus

·         Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·         Commercial capabilities / commercial way of thinking

·         Reliable, high service level, good communication skills, motivated and committed

·         Affinity with working in an international environment

·         Stress-resistant/Well-organized

·         Accurate
