Kelly Law Registry is seeking a part-time, contract paralegal for one of our clients in the Peninsula. Description: Temporary part-time contract Paralegal with a background in Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry. The candidate will establish and maintain a filing system and tracking database for contracts and legal documents. The candidate should be able to review, prepare, draft, edit and analyze standard contracts at the direction of the executive team as needed. Law firm experience and a paralegal certificate are required. At least 3 years of experience with managing contracts is highly desired. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: Establish or revise a system for filing legal documents, both paper and electronic versions. Review legal documents Organize, maintain and track files for legal documents, contracts and agreements in a database Provide electronic technology support as needed e.g., formatting and revising electronic versions of documents, scanning and uploading contracts Assist in preparation, drafting, negotiation and finalization of legal documents and agreements Coordinate requests for tasks with different departments Take an active role in the maintenance of clinical study contract documentation and filing systems Proofread legal documents as required Key competencies: Research skills Analytical skills Critical thinking skills Planning and organizing Attention to detail and accuracy General Support Activities Assist with preparation of Word documents, Power point slide presentations, and Excel spreadsheets Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of Associate Degree or post-secondary certification in Paralegal Studies required Paralegal certification is preferred. Thorough knowledge of legal principles. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Must be able to handle a wide variety of tasks with particular attention to organization and tracking of files. Must have 3 years of paralegal experience. Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple project simultaneously. Good interpersonal and organizational skills, good judgment, and the ability to follow through on project essentials
