Job Description As the Area Operations Manager II you will be accountable for leading the service delivery efforts for residential, business and wholesale products and services throughout CenturyLink's New Jersey market. Strong leadership and collaboration skills are required as this position is responsible for financial and operational results impacted by multiple organizations in both direct and indirect reporting relationships. This position is also actively involved in events and organizations that help strengthen our company?s brand in the northwest New Jersey area. Reports to the Vice President/General Manager and works independently on day-to-day operations. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages subordinate supervisors responsible for installation and maintenance, central office and business operations, within the geographic area of responsibility that includes the Northern and Southern NJ markets. You will be responsible for the continuous operations of the market's central office switching and transmission equipment, and coordinating construction, maintenance, installation and repair of outside plant. Motivating all employees to provide the best service at the lowest cost. Staying abreast with new technology, determining the best long-term solution for the Company while staying within budget. Arranges for adequate personnel training while maintaining an effective installation and maintenance schedule. High visibility in the community by being active in organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and various service groups. Must work within the framework of the overall operation by blending department responsibilities into an efficient, effective result. Selecting competent staff in accordance with legal, corporate and department hiring guidelines. Develop an effective staff by motivating, training and evaluating employees. Develops and manages to an annual expense budget which reflects operational requirements for labor and non-labor expenditures recognizing the need to control overall expense. Responsible for meeting the market?s sales unit and net gain forecast while delivering exemplary service to our customers. Delivers employee sales units and provides input to sales, retail and marketing staff on new competitors and product/marketing opportunities in the area. Ensures customer service by all employees within the state is conducted in an exemplary manner by seeing that maintenance and installation of telecommunications equipment is in accordance with Company standards and objectives. Providing direction with the implementation of new procedures or modifications to existing procedures to reflect changes in regulations, service provision, technical standards, consolidation, etc. by insuring that all work groups or affected customers are notified in an appropriate and timely manner. Contributes to the development of the annual capital plan by working closely with the Engineering organization to ensure the market?s needs are being addressed. Implements and monitors the Corporate Safety Program within the market. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. All other duties as assigned.
